Brady and Rhys celebrate their 1st birthday together

Ryan's cousin Jeff and his wife Abby had their fourth baby (and subsequently, fourth BOY!) just 3 days after we had Brady. Abby and I are pretty close, so we knew then that we'd be celebrating some important dates for these boys together. We blessed them both at church together when they were just a few months old, and last week we celebrated their first birthday together.

We decided to go with a Dr. Seuss themed party and play up the whole "Thing1" and "Thing2" ...thing. Here are some highlights from the day:

I made party hats for the boys and we printed out some iron-on transfers for their shirts :)

Some of our food items went along with Dr. Seuss books.

Abby ordered a jumpy slide for the older kids to keep them entertained and it worked like a charm. They all played outside the entire time!
Abby and Rhys...of course, I was so busy taking pics, I didn't get any of me and Brady (except a few of him opening presents). I NEED to starte getting more of us together.
We set up a blue photo backdrop and took some silly pictures with props before setting the boys up for pictures and cupcakes

Brady was just NOT a fan of the hat.

Rhys seems to think it's ok though :)

Brady got a little scared at cupcake time...

And he didn't quite know what to do with it. Rhys went at it like a pro!

Luckily Grandma Neilson was right there to help Brady get the hang of it.

And once he realized it was sweet, he had NO problem working it on his own.

This kid is just SO stinkin' CUTE! And, though this might be too much information, I think it's funny and worth sharing. The day after the party, Brady was pooping BLUE....just from that ONE cupcake!
Here is our best picture together :) He got some great gifts from family and friends and came home with some great new outfits (just as we were running out of all that I stockpiled at the babyshower last year) and some fun new toys and books. Thanks to all that came and celebrated with us. It was a fun day, and one I'll never forget!

After the party, Brady went home with Grandma and Grandpa Neilson while Ryan and I got to go out to dinner with Melissa and David. It was a great way to end a great day (and a great week in CA)!
