Update

Well, I promised big changes...and here they are. Ryan got a job!!

He's going to be a consultant for a company that sells an inventory software to car dealerships (I think). He won't be selling, but will be working with current customers in his territory.

We are very excited, but I'm also quite nervous. Ryan will be training for the next 4 months, which will require him to fly all over the US and Canada, Monday - Friday, EVERY week for the next 4 months. So I'll only see him on the weekends. That's going to be rough. BUT, I'll be tough and try to handle it gracefully and without complaining to him TOO much.

That's not the only big change though...see, this TERRITORY that he'll cover could be anywhere in the US. During his interview, they mentioned that they are in need of consultants in some of the Mid-Western states, but by the time his training is up, things might change...so we really have no clue where he will be assigned. AND, we won't know what his territory is until after the 3rd month of training, so I can't really plan much yet. Once we find out, we'll have 1 month to research and find a place to live before moving far far away (potentially). SCARY!! But we're hoping it will be a great experience and a great opportunity to launch Ryan's career as a college grad (oh yeah, he graduates in 2 months!! YEAH!!). So here we go...onto something new and still a little unknown, but hopefully great.

He starts tomorrow, but is just going to be in San Clemente (about 1.5 hours away) until Thursday for a company retreat. I assume he will start flying out the following week for training, but we don't know for sure. ANYWAY, that's our big news. It's definitely a game changer in our little life.

  2. Congrats!!! How exciting for you guys! 4 1/2 years ago, when Grant started with AT&T we were in a very similar situation...He had 6 months of training in Atlanta before we would know where they wanted to have us move. Thankfully, San Antonio workded out perfectly for us. I can't wait to see where you guys end up!

BTW, I keep meaning to email you and apologize for not saying goodbye at the funeral! We suddenly realized how late it was and had to skip the luncheon and go straight to the airport to avoid missing our flight. We were both SO bummed about it...I didn't even get to hug Grandpa or say goodbye! Miss you guys (and that sweet Brady!)
