Mommy/Brady date at the zoo

Brady and I went on a little date to the zoo today. It was a perfect day for it because it was raining on and off, so there were very few people there, but our zoo has a ton of indoor exhibits that we haven't seen in a while, so we weren't bothered by the weather at all.

We ate lunch in the car before heading in since it was rainy. Brady loves when I pull him up to the front seat to eat and I love looking at that tiny boy in that big seat :) He's just so stinkin' cute!

side note: As I sat there watching him eat and SMILE because he was so happy to be up front, I got teary eyed. My love for this kid overwhelms me sometimes and reminded of it during the most random and unexpected moments.

Once in the zoo, our first stop was Kingdom's of the Night, a nocturnal exhibit that includes bat caves (STINKY), and an indoor swamp with beavers, toads, turtles, and alligators (even an albino gator). This is my FAVORITE exhibit of the whole zoo, it feels like your in the beginning of The Pirates of the Caribbean ride, out on the bayou. LOVE it. The best part is, this whole exhibit is always SUPER crowded and today Brady and I were the only ones in there! Too dark for pictures though...

Next we went on to the Orangutan Forrest and Gorilla Valley. These guys were super active today!

Last stop was the petting zoo, where Brady followed around a little goat and checked out a donkey before I let him dig around in the archeology area, which he loved.

Peacocks roam free in the zoo and this guy was so intrigued by Brady, he kept coming up to get a closer look at him.

I sure love that I get to stay home with my babe and enjoy fun days like this on a whim. What a treat!

  1. He looks like a little boy! I can't believe how fast he is growing up...and how much more he is looking like Ryan!
