Last day in Omaha

I documented some of our last day in Omaha with my phone and thought I'd share.

We started the day off with donuts (a moving day tradition) before the packers/movers came and got to work. We were very lucky to not have to do much work for this move at all, in fact, I felt like I was in the way. Eventually I took Brady out for a long lunch to get out of the way and keep him occupied. After the apartment was packed, we headed to our storage unit to let the movers in to load that up.

Here is the view from our storage unit...I'm DEFINITELY going to miss SOME parts of Nebraska!!

After waiting around all day for the movers to finish, we headed downtown to our hotel for the night. We ended up with a great view of the TD Ameritrade Park where the college world series is held. Brady loved standing at the window repeating "baseball park". He was in heaven!

We headed to California Tacos for dinner (it was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives). Brady had a diaper rash and it hurt to sit in a chair, so he ate on the floor. We may have looked weird, but he was happy, so we were too.

After dinner, we walked around our hotel where they have a big Union Pacific Railroad tribute, since it started in Omaha. My grandpa worked for UP so it was fun to read the signs and get a sense of what life was like so long ago. Plus, Brady loves trains!!

We ended the night watching Up and Despicable Me in bed :)

The next day we caught an early flight to CA. Brady was so good on the first flight and he slept through the ENTIRE 2.5 hours of the second flight.

Once we finally got to CA, we of course wasted NO time in getting to IN-n-Out. It was our very first stop and it was delicious!!

We've been here for about a week now and are staying with Ryan's parents on Balboa Island while we look for a place to live. We've been out searching all week and have a few good leads, so hopefully we'll find something great soon.
